Stay tuned for the great game coming up soon this month! Undertaker vs Rusev, good to go…
Originally, the Casket Match was set to be between the two Superstars, but Lana asked for The Bulgarian Brute to be removed from the cycle, and he was replaced with Chris Jericho, as The Ravishing Russian expressed concern over her husband taking on The Demon of Death Valley.
After all, this great match undoubtedly belongs to The Undertaker, as The Deadman has claimed victory in several of these harrowing contests, wherein a Superstar only wins when he gets his opponent into the casket and closes the lid.
However, now it appears that Lana’s faith in the tremendous ability of her husband has won out, and she has changed her mind. She explained, via one of her tweets, that WWE officials have granted her request to allow Rusev to compete against The Phenom at the Greatest Royal Rumble event.
Undertaker vs Rusev, the Greatest Royal Rumble Match Predictions
While Rusev pinning The Undertaker all by himself may be a bit of a stretch, we can totally imagine English and Rusev teaming up to take The Dead Man out. The two of them could load him up into a casket for Rusev to secure a victory. And this could help Rusev rise the main roster rungs.
The numbers game is the only plausible scenario we can imagine where The Undertaker suffers a loss. Even if the contest were to be one-sided, it would be a pretty big win for the Bulgarian Brute.
While on the other hand, The Undertaker destroyed John Cena at WrestleMania 34. Yes, the same John Cena who is perhaps the greatest WWE superstar of the modern era. What chance does Rusev have the same token? We can absolutely imagine The Undertaker delivering all his trademark spots and stuffing Rusev into a casket thereafter.
Rumour Mill regarding the Royal Rumble Match 2018
Post-WrestleMania, a Casket match was announced between the Undertaker and Rusev which was set to take place in Saudi Arabia at the Greatest Royal Rumble event. WWE then announced that Rusev was removed from the match, and Chris Jericho was to take his place against the Phenom.
When this announcement was made, pandemonium broke loose on the internet. Speculation ran rampant about the future of the Bulgarian Brute in WWE. This speculation was further fuelled by Rusev changing his information on Twitter.
All of a sudden, Rusev was added back to the match replacing Chris Jericho on the fixture. According to Dave Meltzer (H/T WrestlingNews.co), the internet speculation is not true, and the real reason Rusev was added to the match again had more to do with Vince McMahon.
